May-Thurner syndrome (MTS) is an underdiagnosed vascular condition that affects blood flow in the pelvis, primarily causing compression of the left common iliac vein by the right common iliac artery . This compression can lead to serious complications such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), especially in young to middle-aged adults . While many people with MTS remain asymptomatic, those affected often experience symptoms related to impaired venous return and venous obstruction in the left leg .
